Write, send and schedule mail

Write a message from your mailbox, take it back within 10 seconds, send it later, or snooze a message until you need it.

Updated

Mail shows the mailboxes you read, each with its folders. Messages leave from the mailbox's own address, with its signature already in place.

Write a message

  1. In Mail, choose Compose.
  2. Fill in To, and add Cc or Bcc if you need them. Addresses are suggested from the mailbox's contacts and your company's own people.
  3. If you read more than one mailbox, pick the one to send from in From.
  4. Write the message. Add files with Attach a file, or drop them onto the message.
  5. Choose Send.

The draft is saved as you go, so closing it loses nothing.

Take it back

A message waits 10 seconds before it leaves. Choose Undo on the note that appears and it goes back to Drafts. After that it has gone.

Send it later

Beside Send, open Send later and choose Tomorrow morning, Monday morning, or Pick a time. Morning means 8 am in your own time zone. Messages waiting to go are listed under Scheduled, where you can move or cancel them.

Use a template

Open Templates in the message to put one in, or to save what you wrote with Save as template. You can also type / at the start of a line and choose a template from the list.

Snooze a message

Open a message and choose Snooze (or press B). Pick Tomorrow, Next Monday, In a week or Pick a time. The message leaves your list and comes back at that time. To bring it back sooner, open Snooze again and choose Wake now.

Keyboard

R replies, A replies to all, F forwards, E archives and # deletes the open message.
