Acceptable Use Policy

Version 1, in effect from

The short version. Use Coding Cords for real work, lawfully. No spam, no harassment, no illegal content, no attacking the service or other people. Mail and calls have extra rules, because abuse by one customer hurts every customer's delivery.

You may not use Coding Cords to

  1. Break any law, or help anyone else to, including privacy, consumer protection, anti-spam, telemarketing, export and sanctions laws.
  2. Store or share content that is illegal, sexually exploits children, promotes terrorism or violence, harasses or threatens people, or infringes intellectual property or privacy.
  3. Send unsolicited bulk mail or messages, or any mail that breaks the Sending and Outreach Terms: bought or scraped lists without a lawful basis, mail with no way to unsubscribe, false headers or misleading subject lines.
  4. Phish, impersonate people or organisations, spoof caller IDs or sender addresses you do not own, or collect passwords or payment details by deception.
  5. Make robocalls or autodialled or prerecorded calls or texts without the consent the law requires, or record calls or meetings without the notice and consent the law requires.
  6. Spread malware, or host files that deliver it.
  7. Probe, scan or test the service's security outside our Responsible Disclosure rules; interfere with or overload the service; get around limits, plans or access controls; or reach other customers' data.
  8. Scrape the service, resell it, or use it to build a competing product.
  9. Use Cord or other AI features to produce content that is illegal or deceptive (including passing off AI-made content or a deepfake as real where the law requires it to be disclosed), that breaks the usage policies of our model providers, or to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on people without a person reviewing them.
  10. Use e-signing to forge a signature or to sign for someone without their authority.
  11. Use the Vault to keep material you have no right to hold, such as stolen credentials.

What we do about it

We may remove content, pause a mailbox, sending domain, campaign or phone number, or suspend an account to stop a breach. Where we reasonably can, we tell you first. Our sending policy may pause a mailbox or domain on its own when bounces or complaints threaten delivery for everyone.

Report abuse, including spam sent from Coding Cords, to abuse@codingcords.com.
