Start a project

Create a project, link it to a client or keep it internal, copy an earlier one, and archive or delete it when it ends.

Updated

A project holds a piece of work: its tasks, its files and the time spent on it. Everyone in your company sees every project.

Create a project

  1. Open Projects in the sidebar.
  2. Choose New project.
  3. Enter its Name.
  4. If you are an admin, choose its Client: an organisation from your CRM, or Internal for work of your own.
  5. Choose Create project.

Start from an earlier project

In the New project sheet, pick a project under Copy from (archived ones are listed too) and set its Start date. Its groups, tags, milestones and open tasks come across into the backlog, with their dates moved to match the new start. Tick Keep people to keep each task's assignee; otherwise they arrive unassigned. Finished tasks, comments, time and files stay behind.

Inside a project

A project has these tabs: Backlog (every task), Overview, Roadmap (each person's tasks laid out in time), Calendar, Files and Settings.

On the Projects page, open a project's card menu and choose Add to favourites to keep it close at hand.

When a project ends

Admins can do both of these from the project's Settings tab:

  • Archive takes it out of lists and reminders. Nothing is deleted, and Unarchive brings it back. Choose Archived on the Projects page to see archived projects.
  • Delete project moves it to the trash with its tasks, files and time. An admin can restore it from Trash on the Projects page for 30 days; after that it goes for good.
