Common questions about Projects and tasks

Answers to common questions about who sees projects, task stages, scheduling and deleted projects.

Updated

Short answers to what people ask most about projects and tasks.

Who can see a project?

Everyone in your company sees every project. Your Personal tasks are the exception: only you see them.

Why isn't a task in my to-do list?

It shows there once it is assigned to you and in To do. Assigning alone doesn't add it. A task waiting for another task, or for the subtask above it, stays out until that is done.

Why can't I choose In progress from the status menu?

In progress is set by the calendar: a task in To do with a block under way or ahead. Drag it onto your calendar in My tasks, or choose Start.

Can I put someone else's task on my calendar?

No. Only a task's assignee can schedule it, on their own calendar, while it is in To do.

Can a deleted project be brought back?

Yes, for 30 days. An admin opens Trash on the Projects page and restores it with its tasks, files and time.

Can a task have more than one assignee?

No. Give it subtasks instead, one for each person.
