Make a form

Build a form with any kind of question, show questions only when they apply, and see it as people will.

Updated

A form collects answers from anyone with its link, no account needed. Your company's forms are all in Forms.

Start a form

  1. Open Forms and choose New form.
  2. Click the title at the top to name it.
  3. On the Questions tab, write a line under Intro saying what the form is for.

The form as people will see it sits beside the questions and changes as you edit. On a narrow screen the two take turns.

Add questions

Under the questions, Add a question lists every kind: Short answer, Paragraph, Email, Phone, Number, Date, One choice, Several choices, Dropdown, Yes or no, Rating and File upload.

Open a question to set its Question, an optional line of Help, its Kind and, for choices and dropdowns, its Options. Switch on required to make it one people must answer. Use Duplicate to copy a question, or Delete question to remove it.

A File upload question takes up to 5 files, each up to 20 MB.

Show a question only when it applies

A question can wait for an earlier one. Under Show this question, keep Always, or pick an earlier question and the answer that shows it. Only questions with set answers can be chosen: choices, dropdowns, Yes or no and Rating.

Copy or delete a form

From a form's row in Forms, or the menu on its page, choose Duplicate or Delete.

Next, decide what happens with each answer and share the form.
