See and restore earlier versions
Look back at earlier versions of a file, see what changed, name a version, and restore one.
Updated
Every file keeps its history. Coding Cords saves as you work, and keeps versions along the way so you can go back.
When versions are kept
A new version is cut when someone new starts editing, after 10 quiet minutes, after an hour of editing, and around every change Cord makes. You can also save one yourself, with a name. For an upload, the first version is the file as it was uploaded.
Look back
- Open the file and choose Versions.
- Versions are listed by day. Choose one to see it in place of the file.
- For documents, Markdown, text and Word files, choose Show changes to see what changed since the version before.
- Choose Back to the current version when you are done.
Restore a version
Open a version and choose Restore, or choose Restore from its ⋯ menu in the list. The file you had before is kept as a version too, so nothing is lost.
Name a version
Choose Save version, give it a name such as Sent to client, and choose Save. To name one already in the list, choose Name (or Rename) from its ⋯ menu.
