Make a voice or video call
Call someone from a conversation, answer or decline a call, and share your screen.
Updated
Calls happen inside conversations, so whoever is in the conversation can be in the call.
Start a call
- Open the conversation.
- Choose Voice call or Video call.
In a direct message or a group, the others are rung. If nobody answers within 40 seconds, the call shows as missed. In a channel nobody is rung; the channel shows the call going on, and anyone in it can join.
Answer a call
When someone calls you, choose Answer, Answer with video, or Decline.
During a call
- Mute and Turn camera off control what others hear and see. Devices picks your microphone, camera and speaker.
- Share screen shows your screen; Stop sharing ends it. Screen sharing is not available on a phone.
- The call window sits in a corner. Choose Full screen to fill the window, or Minimise to fold it away.
- Hang up leaves the call.
When everyone has left, the conversation keeps a line with how long the call lasted and how many people were in it.
On an iPhone
If you use Coding Cords as an installed app, keep it open during a call. iOS stops the sound when it goes to the background.
