Track deals on the pipeline

Add a deal, move it through your stages, give it a next step and close it as won or lost.

Updated

A deal is a piece of work you hope to win from a person or an organisation. Deals live in CRM, on the Pipeline board and in the Deals list.

Add a deal

  1. Open CRM in the sidebar, then Pipeline or Deals.
  2. Press New deal.
  3. Give it a Title, pick its Stage and Owner, and set the Value, currency and Expected close date.
  4. Choose the Person and Organisation it is with, then press Add deal.

The deal opens in a sheet whenever you select it, so you can change any of this later and press Save.

Move it along

On Pipeline, drag a card from one stage's column to the next. While you carry a card, places to drop it as won or lost appear along the bottom. A lost deal always asks Why was it lost?; pick one of your company's reasons and it closes.

Give it a next step

Every open deal should have one dated action. In the deal's sheet, under Next step, write what happens next, pick Today, Tomorrow, In a week or a date, and save. The step becomes a task for the deal's owner. Today in CRM lists the deals whose next step is late or due today, then those with no next step, so you know who to call.

After a deal is won

Admins see two more buttons on a won deal: Create project starts a project for the client, and Invoice opens a new invoice filled in from the deal.

Stages and reasons

Admins set the pipeline's stages and the won and lost reasons in Settings › Sales › Pipeline. Forecast in CRM shows the weighted pipeline and your win rate.
