What's new in Coding Cords

New things you can do, and the improvements and fixes that came with them.

Sign in with your work email, with a personal email for recovery

Every account now has two addresses: the work mailbox you sign in with, and a personal email used only to get back in. Passkeys and two-step sign-in with an authenticator app are in Profile › Security, along with the devices you are signed in on.

Improvements and fixes

  • Documents: Every document opens in the Word editor, laid out on real pages with headers, footers and page numbers.
  • Workspace: When something on a page fails, that page shows what happened and lets you try again.

Find, contact and win clients with the CRM and Outreach

Sales comes in two parts. The CRM keeps the people and organisations you work with, each with a stage and a timeline, and your deals on a pipeline. Outreach runs campaigns from lead lists through sales mailboxes, and sorts every reply into a folder by what it says.

Improvements and fixes

  • Outreach: Each sending domain shows its record checks and whether it is on a blocklist.
  • CRM: A person's page shows everything that happened with them on one timeline.

Run your company's mail on your own domains

Mail now lives in the workspace: add your domains, see each DNS record ticked off as it checks out, and read and write mail from shared and personal mailboxes. The composer docks at the bottom so you can keep reading while you write.

Improvements and fixes

  • Mail: New mail is pushed to your phone and computer, not only to the bell.
  • Settings: Settings has its own navigation and full-width pages.

Open and edit PDFs, spreadsheets and Word files in place

PDFs open with thumbnails, find and zoom, and you can highlight, comment, draw and fill in forms. Excel and CSV files open in a grid with working formulas. Word documents, Markdown and text files are edited in place, every file keeps its versions, and any file can become a template.

Improvements and fixes

  • Files: Make new Word documents, spreadsheets, Markdown and text files from the New menu.
  • Files: Open any file in a tab of its own.
  • Documents: Office fonts you do not have are drawn with free fonts of the same shape.

Plan work in projects, with a backlog, calendar and roadmap

Every project now has a backlog, a calendar of who is working on what, and a roadmap that shows tasks as bars over time. Tasks have one assignee, a group, tags, a priority and a due date, and a task can wait on another.

Improvements and fixes

  • Tasks: A task's due date follows its bar when you move it on the roadmap.
  • Notifications: A bell, toasts and @mentions tell you when someone needs you.
  • Notes: My notes: private notes you can tag, colour and drag into columns.
